MANITOWOC – Police have arrested a 41-year-old Manitowoc man on suspicion of reckless homicide and delivery of a Schedule I or II narcotic (fentanyl) in a Feb. 19 overdose death.
A Manitowoc police report says officers were called to a Manitowoc home Feb. 19 for the report of a possible overdose. Officers attempted life-saving measures on the victim but were unsuccessful, the report says.
On the victim’s body, police found 2.5 grams of fentanyl wrapped up in a $1 bill. The drug tested positive for the presence of fentanyl, police said.
Toxicology and autopsy results from the Fond du Lac County Medical Examiner’s Office later were provided to police and showed drugs were a cause and contributing factor in the death.

The Herald Times Reporter does not name suspects until they have been charged with a crime. The suspect was arrested Sept. 11 but no charges had been filed in the Wisconsin Circuit Court Access system as of the morning of Sept. 12. The suspect was listed as an inmate at Manitowoc County Jail.
